Président’s letter

Dear Harpists,

We all know we play a wonderful instrument that is still difficult to access.

Not only the initial cost of purchasing a harp but also the cost of maintaining it, make it an instrument that many teaching structures, in France or abroad, are unable to acquire.

This was brought home to us sharply during our trip to the 9th Harp Week in Buenos Aires in 2023, and as a result, Primor Sluchin and I decided to set up a charity to raise funds and create a network of solidarity between harpists around the world.
The principle is simple: when you buy a harp, we suggest you consider donating 1% of the total price to our association. Our partner shops (Camac, l'Instrumentarium, and Harposphère) will offer you the option of adding 1% of the purchase price of your instrument and guide you through the process of donating it directly to our charity.

You can also choose to donate an instrument or musical equipment.

Finally, you can also donate 1% of all your harp income (concerts, courses, instrument sales, etc.) directly to our charity via our website, www.onepercentharp.org.

66% of your donation can be deducted from your income tax. 0.4% of the price of a harp, or of a year's musical income, does not sound like much, but the sums raised could quickly become considerable if all harpists get involved.

What will your donations be used for? To finance the purchase of new or second-hand instruments, redistribute unused instruments and equipment to establishments that need them, or organize repairs and servicing by certified technicians.

The initial voicing of our charity's project received an extraordinarily warm response from harpists and we are extremely proud to announce that Isabelle Moretti has agreed to be the very first patron.

You can learn more about our charity via www.onepercentharp.org , find out about our very first projects and how to add your contribution.

We are counting on you to join this movement of solidarity and make it possible for everyone to learn to play the harp.
